While the welds on some sets of DPs were indeed ground too far back for them to go in three weeks is nuts and no wonder. You kinda left out the part about nuking the motor with ultra high-speed runs that the car was not designed for, not the parts. Even so, the fact that you nuked the motor probably tells us that the tune was a bit off and I bet those suckers were glowing like no tomorrow :( Left out the most important part.
